I am always proud to see ideas taking shape into something beautiful, this project went far beyond that. It was a time when people had plenty of things to do and the market was nearly saturated with events, the good old pre-covid times. That’s when during one, almost late night, meeting with one of the leading members of Babes-Bolyai University we’ve decided to push forward and create one big event celebrating 100 years of Romanian Higher Education in Transilvania. The initial target was aimed at 2000 participants and that seemed like one impossible task, especially given the short time allowed for it.
I started exploring all the possible options and one unusual idea struck me, what if we create an ad-hoc committee that’ll take care of each participant through constant communication. For a thing like that, we needed more than 150 people, a lot of coordinators, and a lot of resources. We had none so I started gathering a core crew made out of my best 6 acquaintances, with them by my side we started recruiting over 150 volunteers in no more than one week which gave us the opportunity to start engaging with the participants.
From there on forward, it was quite simple grinding forward to get not 2000 participants but 9000 which have eventually generated the biggest event in the history of the academic space in Romania since 1977.

Let me know if you want to hear more about it: how we have managed part of the President’s security, how we took improv to a next level when we’ve reached the unexpected number of people joining us, how 7 people have coordinated 150+ volunteers with pin-pointed accuracy, how we have kept close contact with all the participants and many other bits about this colossal challenge.
